Star Wars Enthusiast Nov 16, 2008 This is a great toy for those who are interested in Star Wars. I bought it for my 6 yr. old grandson and he loves it.
Loads of fun! Jun 30, 2008 Not a lot more to be said than that . . . Just loads of fun, especially if you are a huge Star Wars fan!
Disappointing design flaw. Mar 09, 2008 The problem with this lightsaber wasn't the spring action: that was actually pretty strong. And it was also pretty bright. And the sounds were good. The problem, which we found in both of the ones we bought and returned to Target, was that the blade would not stay out. There is not enough friction between the blade and the black piece where the blade extends from. I think it's due to the kind of plastic used in the blade. So, when you extend out the blade, and it's glowing and humming, and you're ready for the attack, a couple of waves of the blade results in the entire blade falling back into the handle. Not the telescoped part, that's fine. Just the friction fit part between the biggest blade segment and the handle. This is strange, since it doesn't happen with the Obi-wan one (blue) and the green spring-action lightsabers. The best way to see this problem is to extend the blade as much as possible, hold it vertically, then give the handle very small shakes back and forth. The blade will work itself loose and fall back onto the spring in the handle. Curse Hasbro's Darth Vader Spring-Action Lightsaber! As for the other ones in the series: way to go!
Awesome Sith saber! Mar 02, 2008 Very awesome lightsaber indeed. The sounds in it sound EXACTLY like they do in the movies. When moving it around it makes the vrmmmmm vvrrmmmm sounds. And when you push down on the bottom of the hilt it makes the banging sound when two lightsabers come together. The designs on the handle are incredible. Completly identical to Lord Vaders. Way more pro's then cons on this saber. A must have! May the force be with you!

Would be awesome if it worked... Jan 14, 2008 This product, in concept, is amazing. However it did not last more than a couple extentions before the spring loaded blade bit the dust. My little guy was so excited about his lightsaber and very careful with it as well I might add. It just was not built to survive :( We saw it light up once, the sound never did work and now it will not extend so it's officially a gallactic flop with my little boy.
