Fuzion Asphalt Ultimate Carving Machine Scooter

SKU:

Availability:   Usually ships in 1 business days

Combining a kick scooter's handlebar with a skateboard's flexible quad-wheel alignment, the Fuzion Asphalt Ultimate Carving Machine lets you easily carve deep smooth turns, slide or air out. Four custom polyurethane wheels hug the road for exceptional handling--turning circles around those traditional two-wheeled models. It also features a wide concave deck, high tech steel frame design, folding/telescoping handle (rising from 29 to 36 inches off the ground, and articulated rear truck. It has a maximum weight capacity of 175 pounds.

Carve deep smooth turns, slide, or air out--it's all up to you.
Foot Placement
You can place your feet anywhere that is comfortable. Most people like a parallel stance with toes facing forward and feet slightly spread forward and back. Learning to kick with either foot, foot brake, and slide turns with either foot, means you will be free to develop your own style of riding.

Turning The Asphalt
The Fuzion Asphalt Ultimate Carving Machine has independent control of the front and rear wheel steering. The front wheels steer the front of the Asphalt when the handle bars are turned, just like a car or bicycle. The back wheels turn the back of the Asphalt when the deck and the handlebars are leaned (banked) from side to side, like a skateboard. By using different combinations of leaning and steering you will quickly be carving and sliding all kinds of turns.

Stopping Techniques
Controlling speed and stopping are basic riding skills that must be learned. You must learn to foot brake and slide turns in order to slow down and stop. Effective braking requires practiced technique, well fitting skate shoes, smooth clean pavement, and room to turn that is free of obstacles, pedestrians, and cars or other traffic. It is very dangerous to ride faster than your ability to turn, slow down and stop. Please exercise good judgment, ride within your skill level, and remain safe.

5O M G!  Aug 28, 2008
OMG! This thing is so much fun! I'm (censored) years old and I was looking for something more substantial than my kids' old Razor that I'd been using. I found this on Amazon and I thought I'd give it a try. My other choice was a xootr but that thing is over $200 and looks like it's more of a fast commuter scooter.

This Fuzion, on the other hand, is built for handling. The front and rear articulations really work. After about 20 minutes on it I was twisting, turning, carving like a kid, and me with degenerative arthritis in my joints, a disc herniation in my back and runner's knees. This thing was so much fun that I tired my kids out before they tired me out.

It's really easy to put together, just a few minutes and they even include a couple of cheap wrenches in the box.

I highly recommend this to anyone over about 100lbs. Any kid lighter than that I think wouldn't be able to throw their body about enough to make the twists and turns that I could, since this scooter is kind of heavy and you need a bit of heft to do it. But if you're an adult you'll be able to take the handling to the limit. And I think I will get those longboard 70mm wheels that others here have recommended.

I haven't had this much fun for ages, it's even better than you know what. Two thumbs (with DJD) up!

Arrived a little late... however worth the wait! My son loves it! Great quality... everything was as described.

4nice ride!  Aug 18, 2008
I'm really liking this scooter. As an older person looking for quick, self-propelled transportation, I found this to be much better than your standard kick scooter, and safer than a skateboard. Turns and carves nicely, and the wide board makes it easy to place your feet in various positions.

I did have a little problem where my kick foot would occasionally hit either the back or front wheels, but I think that's simply because I'm not used to this yet. The scooter is a bit heavy to be carrying around, and I agree with other reviewers: the plastic wheels do make for a slower ride, requiring more kicks than a scooter or skateboard would. I'll be switching out the wheels to 70mm longboard ones soon, so hopefully that will help.

My real gripe is the bar. Because it needs to be pulled out all the way, there's nothing actually keeping it in position when folded as it would for a kick scooter. This makes the Fuzion a bit unwieldy, especially when combined with how heavy it is.

5Lot of fun  Aug 16, 2008
I have a 7 year all kid and he loves the scooter. Materials are very strong, I am a 230 lb and I did have a go, no problems at all

5Great scooter, worth the money.   Aug 03, 2008
I am 12 years old and I've had this scooter since Christmas of '07 and I'm still not bored with it. If you're like me, and you use scooters as modes of transportation, then this might be your favorite scooter. I think it's like the longboard of the scooter world. Too heavy to do tricks, (in my mind), but heavy enough to retain whatever speed you bring it up to. It didn't take very long to assemble it; roughly 15 minutes, and then I was out on the street riding it. In short, I love it and have no complaints regarding it. It's worth the $[...].
