Good Spacial Skill builder Jul 21, 2008 Played this with my family and we enjoyed it. Very easy to learn\teach, but tricky to build strategy with. Made the young ones think. Very engaging game.
While far from fragile, I thought the pieces could be snapped in the wrong hands. However, I don't know if this is something that can be remedied at manufacture. My advice? Keep it away from the toddlers.
Very fun game Jul 21, 2008 My husband and I truly enjoy this game. It is not as addicting as Tetris but similar in nature, competing with quick sharp spatial skills. The only thing I think that would make this game better is adding a hourglass to it as you get some people who take WAY too long on their turn. Otherwise I highly recommend
Fun, challenging, for all ages Jul 20, 2008 My husband and 2 kids, aged 11 and 4 are 'addicted' to Blokus. Our 4 year-old helps out by playing the fourth color and we score as if it was the 3-player variation. He enjoys himself and makes shapes with his pieces while the others think how to block and prepare 'escape routes'. Loads of fun and brain training.
Blokus Jul 19, 2008 This is a great family game. My husband and I play Blokus with our 6 year-old twins. It is a fun strategic game that we can all enjoy playing together. My parents got hooked on it after playing it with our children. I ordered Blokus for them and other relatives. I would highly recommend the game to adults or families with children, because it is a good thinking-game.
Great learning fun Jul 15, 2008 This is so much fun players don't even realize that they are developing spatial perception! Experience doesn't always win. I was beaten by my eight-year-old daughter. We play the game according to the rules, but after we are done. My daughter loves to use the pieces to make colorful patterns on the game board.
This is one of the games used in by my daughter's vision therapy office. They use small box lids to separate the different colored pieces. The trays provided in the game make it very difficult to see each shape individually. I definitely recommend using different trays. That makes it easier to identify the pieces and therefore to have more fun. Enjoy
