In both versions, players are dealt five red apple cards and try to make the closest match possible to a word on the judge's green apple card. In Apples to Apples Junior, if you're holding a quintet consisting of, for example, Winnie the Pooh, Farms, Swimming, Bumble Bees, and The First Day of School, you play one of the five to match Loud. If the judge selects your card as the best match, you keep the green apple card; if you win four you're king of the orchard. Apples to Apples Junior includes rules for a couple of tasty variations, too. Crabapple play awards the card to the player with the worst match, while Quick Picked Apples rewards speedy card selection by eliminating from consideration the last card played to a green apple card. Fast and easy to learn, Apples to Apples Junior is a bushel and a peck of fun. --Tony Mason | | | |

Wonderful game Jun 17, 2008 This game is entertaining, silly, and educational. I am a speech therapist, and I use it to help kids figure out descriptor words. They love the game, and I love how easily it gets them involved.
You need at least 3-4 kids, and the kids need to be able to read, for this game to be fun. The adult version is also fantastic.
Apples to Apples Kids May 23, 2008 We enjoyed playing this over at a friend's house and just had to have it. Very entertaining if you don't get too serious about what is being matched because there's no telling what's going through the other person's head.
Fun Game! Mar 29, 2008 This is a fun game -- very easy to learn and play quickly. We have a lot of fun playing it with our kids, ages 5&7. Our five year old can't read all the words so we play as teams. My only wish is that they had pictures with the words so that kids who can't read could understand it without as much help. But it really is a fun game -- one we don't mind playing over and over as adults with the kids because it makes us all laugh. It's great for the holidays when relatives are visiting because everyone can play.
good family fun Feb 23, 2008 I bought this game primarily with my 5-year-old in mine. She can play with some assistance, and she enjoys it a lot. The rest of the family, an 8 year old and a 10 year old, and my wife and I, enjoy it very much as well. It is fun and mind-expanding at the same time.
Great to be able to play this game with kids! Feb 08, 2008 The adult version of this game is tons of fun, so it is nice to see a kids version so they can join in on the fun, too. Makes kids really think about what words can mean and represent as well as allows them to get silly, too. You just have to make sure you have enough people to play this game, as it is really a party type game. The more people, the more fun it is!
